Governor & Clergy Training
Briefings for Governors
Informal get-togethers with the Director of Education and Chairs of Governors. Clerks and Foundation Governors are also welcome to attend. These sessions are held virtually every month and offer the opportunity to chat about topical issues and share best practice.
Sessions are free of charge and there is no need to book.

Governor Two-Part Training Programme
These sessions will be led by the Deputy Director for Education and Fiona Moss from RE Today
Sessions are held online 18:00 – 20:00
Part 1 will be repeated on 3 dates – please attend only 1 session.
Monday 27/11/23 – Wednesday 28/02/24 – Wednesday 26/06/24
Part 2 Thursday 16/05/24
This training programme is essential for any new governors and for those who have not accessed DBE training for a while and would benefit from refreshing their knowledge of what it means to be a governor of a church school. This course will give you the firm foundations you need to carry out your role effectively as well as networking and discussion time with other governors in the diocese.

Fee for both sessions: School in Partnership Agreement £125 / Non Partnership Agreement £250 (per school)
PA £25 / Non PA £40 (individual governor)
This programme is relevant for ANY governor of a church school, and not just foundation governors.
Bespoke Training
Members of the DBE team are also available to provide bespoke training for governing bodies on the development and/or review of your Christian vision. This is usually delivered online for two hours, contact officedbe@derby.anglican.org
