Derby Cathedral presents Peace Doves – a mass participation project that will culminate in the creation of an art installation by artist Peter Walker Sculptor suspended above the nave of Derby Cathedral 23 April – 12 June 2022.  

The project engages local schools, community groups and the general public, who are encouraged to decorate doves with messaging and reflections on Peace, Love and Hope.  

Derby Cathedral would like to invite schools across the Diocese of Derby to sign up to receive FREE digital resources for use anytime in the Spring school term, including a dove template and a full education pack including supporting materials and guidance.  

How your school can be involved  

Using the resources, students create their own simple paper dove and decorate it with a message or drawing about peace. Once completed, schools are asked to use students’ Peace Doves to create a display in your school setting, photograph the display and share it on social media to join the celebration.
